The 2016 Abilities Expo places a huge emphasis on providing our young adults of WA whom deal with physical, sensory, intellectual and/or psychiatric disabilities information and advice that will assist them prepare for life beyond school.
The Abilities Expo committee have booked the event in the Grand Ballrooms at Burswood, which will provide a larger space for exhibitors, and are working hard to ensure that the 2016 Abilities Expo is better than ever!
The aim of the Expo is to:
- Provide students and their families along with teachers and other stakeholders information about future employment, training and further education opportunities available to students with disabilities after leaving school along with transport options.
- Provide students and their families with information on what is deemed necessary to gain future employment, training or further education and how this can be achieved.
- Create partnerships between students, families, schools and post secondary school opportunities.
- Promote the excellence and use of Vocational Education and Training in schools to potential Employment and Training agencies and higher education organisations.
There are also career stories from former students who have been through these journeys and how they became a success as well as presentations from employers on what is available.
